    This course provides the basic understanding of causes of metal failure and application of investigation and analysis techniques to metal failure.

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - Understand types of metal failures and their causes.
    - Know the general procedures and techniques of analysis of metal failure.
    - Have workshop experience about mechanical testing, macroscopic examination, metallographic examination and non-destructive inspection of metals.
    - Apply the investigation and analysis techniques to metal failure that occur in service and determine required corrective measure.
