This is a lecture-based course to provide participants with important information on radiation sources and doses, and train them how to avoid exposure and apply protection measures at workplace.
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
- Identify major sources of natural and industrial radiation.
- Know how to detect and measure radiation in surrounding place
- Calculate exposure times and radiation doses.
- Apply protection parameters that promotes safety when dealing with radioactive materials.
- Acquire the skills to manage radioactive waste materials, transport radioactive materials, and store them safely.

- Day One: Introduction to Radiation and Radioactive Materials.
- Day Two: Radiation and Human Safety.
- Day Three: Radioactive materials at Workplace.
- Recognizing sources of radiation at work.
- Applying protection procedures and dress.
- Handling martials in safe manner.
- Engineers and technicians in most industries.
- Medical Staff at Radiology departments (clinics/ hospitals).
