    This COSHH training course is designed to give workers knowledge of the health risks surrounding work with hazardous substances, including how to undertake a COSHH assessment by identifying the risks and the control measures needed, and ensure that they understand how to work safely with hazardous substances.

    - State the principles for controlling hazardous substances/chemicals.

    - Definition and types of hazardous substances.
    - Health effects of hazardous substances and their causes.
    - Basic terminology and classification - in relation to hazardous substances.
    - COSHH regulations, awareness and assessment.
    - Control strategies for hazardous substances/chemicals.
    - Personal protective equipment – selection, benefits and limitations.
    - Risk assessment - essential steps.
    - Sources of information - effective interpretation, MSDS.
    - REACH Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) and CLP (Classification, Labeling and Packaging of substances and mixtures) regulations.
    - Responsibilities under the regulations.

    - Cleaning and Storage of hazardous substances/chemicals.
