    This course is designed to provide basic knowledge of common laboratory techniques, reagent preparations, basic calculations in chemical analysis, sample preparation, record keeping, washing, drying, and safe handling of glass wares and chemicals.

  • course learning outcomes:

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - Get good measurement skills and handling of common laboratory apparatus.
    - Use analytical balance in order to obtain accurate mass.
    - Calibrate the glassware and equipment.
    - Well-versed with personnel protective equipment (PPEs), disposal and recycling of chemicals.
    - Perform washing, drying and using the glassware and proper storage of chemicals.
    - Use various techniques of physical separation.
    - Explain basic calculation in chemical analysis and application of common laboratory chemicals.
    - Record all the experimental procedures and the data collected.
