    This course covers the fundamentals and techniques of testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical industrial switch gear. It reviews state of the art practices in the maintenance of circuit breakers, re-closers, fuses and isolators.

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - Identify and know the operating principles of different kinds of current interrupting devices such as circuit breakers, re-closers, fuses and isolators.

    - Introduction.
    - Types of circuit breakers: air blast circuit breakers, air circuit breakers, vacuum circuit breakers, oil circuit breakers.
    - Reclosers, sectionalizers.
    - Types of fuses: low voltage and current limiting fuses, explosion fuses.
    - Trouble shooting skills of different kinds of current interrupting devices such as circuit breakers, re-closers, fuses and isolators.
