    The participants will understand the concepts renewable energy sources. The main focus of the course is on working on Solar PV system and DFIG system.

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - Learning about solar PV system and the common wind turbine systems.
    - Understanding the operation of the solar PV system in off-grid and grid-tied modes and the operation and control of DFIG wind turbine system.

    - Introduction to renewable energy sources.
    - Power Characteristics of a solar PV module under various irradiances.
    - Connection of Solar PV modulus.
    - Effect of Shading on PV modulus performance.
    - Power-Electronic Interfacing for solar PV systems.
    - Operation of off-grid and grid-tied solar PV systems.
    - Power characteristics of DFIG wind turbine under various wind speeds.
    - Power-Electronic Interfacing for wind turbine systems.
    - Synchronization of DFIG wind turbine with the grid.
    - Sub-synchronous and Super-synchronous operation and active/reactive power control of DFIG wind turbine system.
