    This course will introduce the participants to basics of power electronics. The participants will understand the working of various power electronics devices and their characteristics.

  • course learning outcomes:

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - Understand the theoretical & practical concepts of control & conversion of Electric Power.
    - Understand the operation and working of basic electronic devices.

    - Introduction.
    - Working Principle, Characteristics and Application of:
               * Power diodes.
               * Thyristors.
               * Power transistors.
               * Uncontrolled Rectifiers.
               * AC Voltage Controllers.
               * Inverters.
    - Thyristor Commutation Techniques.
    - Buck Boost Converters.

    - Technicians & Maintenance Inspectors (Electrical or Electronic) who have at least 2 years’ experience in this field, with good knowledge of basic math/physics and electronics and good communication skills in English.
