This course aims to deliver the basic concepts of spectroscopy. The characteristic properties of radiation, absorption and emission. The energy of transitions between molecular and atomic energy levels and how to relate it to its qualitative and quantitative analysis. The topics covered enables the attendees with a broad knowledge about the instrumentation, sample preparation, interpretation and basic trouble shooting of spectrometers.
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
- Describe theory of spectroscopic methods.
- Develop and select a quality control analysis required for the product analysis.
- Perform Interpretation of analytical results for meaningful conclusions.
- Carryout basic troubleshooting for the spectrometers.
- Introduction to basic concepts in spectroscopy.
- Spectrometer hardware.
- Instrumentation.
- Sampling and sample requirements.
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis of results and industrial applications.
- Measure the absorbance of a sample using spectrometer.
