    This course provides Identification of safety risks and analytical treatment of those risks in various work settings. Safety is an integral part of the financial health of an organization. Within this course the relationships that exist between risk management and safety are explored with regards to fiscal health and best safety practices. Career paths identified as loss control/risk management is within the scope of the safety profession. This course is designed to explore the dimension of this area to further expand the knowledge and goals for the safety professionals.

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - Identify the various concepts dealing with risk and how those concepts influence safety management and the organization.
    - Describe the condition under which risk analysis would be appropriate.
    - Apply basic risk concepts to various work settings.
    - Explain the loss exposure procedures in the areas of property loss, net income loss, liability exposures and personnel exposures.
    - Demonstrate the use of statistical analysis in the application of probability analysis.
    - Compare the relationship between risk concepts, statistical concepts and target population mission and goals.
    - Assess the function and appropriate level of application of risk analysis to the needs of the system under investigation/assessment.
