This course introduces the student to the details of fire department response, including incident management, apparatus and equipment, incipient vs. advanced firefighting, and various aspects of pre-incident planning. These fundamentals are drawn from NFPA 600 (Fire Brigades) and NFPA 1620 (Pre-Incident Planning) .
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
- Describe the structure and contents of a pre-incident plan.
Explain the types and responsibilities of industrial fire brigades.
- Identify physical, site and occupant considerations that impact how a facility responds to an emergency event.
- Critically evaluate the basic features of a pre-incident plan for an industrial facility.
