The course traverses through Basic Principle of Radiography, Radiation safety requirements, Exposure techniques, Radiographic Viewing, Evaluation and Interpretation of Radiographs with reference to acceptance /rejection criteria.
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
- Understand Basic Principles of Radiography.
- Understand Geometric Exposure Principles, Radiographic Screens, Radiographic Cassettes.
- Understand Radiographs, H&D Curve, Film Speed and Class.
- Understand Selection of Film, Radiographic Image Quality.
- Understand Exposure Techniques, Darkroom Facilities, Techniques and Processing.
- Understand Indications, Discontinuities and Defects.
- Understand Manufacturing Processes and Associated Discontinuities.
- Understand Radiographic Viewing, Application Technique.
- Evaluate Weldments.
- Interpret results based on ASTM / ASME standards and specifications.
- Interpret the Company Procedure to perform acceptance/rejection.
- Evaluation & Interpretation of many numbers of films.
- Review & Discussions.
- Mock Up Tests, Home Works, and Examinations.
- Test will be conducted in 3 methods:
- General 2. Specific 3. Practical
- The candidate successfully completes the course if he gets a minimum score of 70% in each test (General, Specific and Practical) and a minimum of 80% for the average of 3 tests.
- Evaluation & Interpretation of many numbers of films.
- Should be High School graduate of science branch (minimum recommended level of education).
- Should have a minimum experience of 220 hours in method and practical review of minimum 1000 radiographs.
- Certificates: Near Vision acuity (Jaeger Number 2 or Ortho-Rater 8), and Color Contrast Differentiation has to be submitted at the time of registration.
