  • course description:

    The course deals with principles of Eddy current testing, Remote Field Testing, Magnetic Flux Leakage and IRIS. Eddy current instrumentation, different types of inspection coils/probes and its applications, setup and equipment calibration, signal analysis and interpretation, preparation of test reports with reference to standard procedure.

  • course learning outcomes:

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - Get familiarize with the basic principles of tube inspection methods (ET, RFT, IRIS & MFL).
    - Get familiarize with the scope & limitations of each method.
    - Setup & calibrate equipment; MS 5800.
    - Interpret & evaluate results.
    Write/ generate test reports based on the company procedure.

  • Course outlines:

    - Hands-on practical training on large number of diversely flawed tubes in mock up heat exchangers with artificial flaws incorporated in different tube materials & dimensions.
    - Daily review & discussions.
    Performance assessment & evaluation method: mock up tests, quizzes and examinations.

  • who should attend?

    - Should be High School graduate of science branch (minimum recommended level of education).
    - Should have industrial work experience (inspection, NDT, maintenance), and preferably with good Ultrasonic Testing background.
