    This course provide skills to recognize, detect, and identify the presence of hazardous materials. It describe how hazardous materials are classified and understand the risks associated with them. This course provide also the proper notification procedures and understanding of the importance of initiating command and control activities during a hazardous materials availability by using of the Emergency Response Guidebook. The curriculum defines hazardous materials, and describes its risks and application of safety and security control.

  • course learning outcomes:

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - Identify hazardous materials/risks.
    - Identify types and locations of hazardous materials.
    - Identify materials using placards/labels using the Emergency Response Guidebook ERG.
    - Identify common resources and use shipping papers and SDS to aid in identification.
    - Identify common security issues, and access control of people & hazard Materials.
