    This course is a study of the safe methods for the transportation and storage of hazardous materials. The purpose is for the student to be able to identify and classify hazardous materials, substances and waste while in fixed facilities and when being transported.

  • course learning outcomes:

    At the end of the course, the participants will be able to;
    - To recognize the hazardous materials that are transported mode of transportation.
    - To classify hazardous materials for proper labeling, placarding, shipping and storage.
    - To describe the operating procedures, personnel, and equipment necessary to deal with a release of hazardous material.
    - To analyze emergency service capabilities to effectively favorably change the outcome of a release.
    - To evaluate the overall governmental and industrial Haz-Mat Programs utilized to reduce the risk of hazardous materials in the community.
