Safety Officer Certification Program

1 – Basic Details:

Total Program duration: 11 Weekly Modules

Designed for Engineers, Technicians and other professionals working in Occupational Health and Safety and looking for Professional Certification for Safety Officer

2 – Expected Training Outcomes:

The graduates of this program will be able to:

a – Identify technical and scientific solutions to protect people, property and the environment.

b – Support the development/ update of EHS policies and programs.

c – Lead accident investigation and apply recommendations.

d – Lead EHS compliance audit.

e – Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.

f – Support/apply process safety management (PSM) program/application.

g – Develop, update, and operate Emergency Response procedure.

h – Apply professional integrity and ethical standards.

i – Apply documents control & record program.

j – Carry on EHS training and develop competencies.

 

3 – The Training Plan:

Modules to be covered

– There will be total 11 training modules and each module will be for one week.

– The daily teaching hours for each training module will be six hours daily so total hours for each module will be 30 hours.

– The modules will also be scheduled during whole year to make it easy for engineers and technicians to attend at different times as per their convenience from work hours and commitment with job. Those who will complete all modules will be awarded with “Safety Officer” Certificate.

4 – Assessment Criteria :

Each module will be followed with final examination on last day of module and candidates will be required to pass all modules for Safety Officer Certification.

5 – Certification issued :

Certificate of Attendance will be provided to all candidates who will attend program.

The candidate who will be successful in all modules will be issued with “Certified Safety Officer”,

 

6 – Eligibility Criteria for Registration to Program:

To be eligible to enroll for Safety Officer Certification program, must meet one of the following criteria:

1- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or other related discipline from an accredited college or university.

2- Associate’s degree in engineering, technology or other related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus one year of verifiable work experience in related field.
